The Hope Village Tea Room provides employment opportunities in which the Villagers work as waiters, waitresses and table-cleaning helpers with community volunteers serving as hostesses.

“The Tea Room serves an important purpose in the lives of the Villagers who work here,”

said Lois Peden, Manager of the Hope Village Tea Room, ceramics shop, and gift shop.

“The work builds their self esteem, confidence, and sense of independence.”

The Villagers enjoy working, dining, and socializing at the Hope Village Tea Room.

“I like the people and working with everybody,”

said Charlie, a Hope Village day-program participant and Tea Room employee.

“My duty is bussing tables, but I can do everything like serve food or whatever is needed. I like the soups, potato and chili con queso. Working with friends is good. Everybody is good and nice. I have fun.”

Our professional chef, Scott Lane, serves wonderful daily specials, homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts.

“The Hope Village Tea Room gives me the ability to utilize the creative side of culinary arts and to keep the menu fresh,”

said Scott Lane, Professional Chef for Hope Village.

“I create weekly specials, and everything I make is from scratch, nothing is processed. The Tea Room has a unique and intimate atmosphere that fits perfect in Friendswood, TX.”

The tea room is available for Bridge groups, showers, business luncheons, teacher appreciation luncheons and birthday parties. We also offer catering for special events and parties. Please call 281.482.6271 for more information or to make arrangements.
